Another week, another masterclass in living life without a rulebook. Florida Man and Florida Woman showed up, clocked in, and delivered — so grab a cold one, kick off the flip-flops, and enjoy this week's finest.

🐻 Bear Raids Fridge, Chooses Violence (Against a Canned Cocktail)

Out in Golden Gate Estates near Naples, a roughly six-foot black bear wandered through an unlocked patio gate, opened the outdoor fridge like he paid the electric bill, and helped himself to an alcoholic Sun Cruiser. Then he spent 30 minutes snacking on the trash out front. The homeowner woke up to a giant paw print on the counter and summed it up perfectly: "I figured he was thirsty." Nobody hurt, gate now closed, and this bear has officially achieved Florida Man status.

🛺 Golf Cart Demolition Derby at the Water Plant

Two overnight joyriders slipped into Fort Lauderdale's Fiveash Regional Water Treatment Plant, found the golf carts, and immediately started crashing them — over and over — on camera. Then they took a victory lap doing donuts on the grass. Broward Crime Stoppers would very much like to chat with these future demolition derby champions (954-493-TIPS).

🐕 Good Boy, 10 Feet Down

In Chiefland, Fire Rescue got a pre-dawn call about a dog stuck at the bottom of a 10-foot-deep sinkhole. It turned into a full technical rescue, and the pup was hauled out and reunited with its owner. Only in Florida does the ground just open up and swallow your dog before breakfast. 💙

🐄 King Tide Strands a Manatee in a Ditch

October's king tides pushed water so far inland that a manatee ended up in a shallow ditch in Indian River County. On Oct. 27 a rescue team, including the sheriff's office, scooped up the sea cow and released it back into the lagoon at Round Island Riverside Park. Wrong turn, buddy — happens to all of us.
