Who is True Local?
True Local is a Florida lifestyle apparel brand based in Pompano Beach, Florida. We design and sell trucker hats, performance hats, t-shirts, women's tank tops, dri-fit sun shirts, hoodies, tumblers and decals for people who actually live the Florida life. Every design is created in-house in Pompano Beach, and we sell direct at shoptruelocal.com plus in person at our weekly Pompano Beach pop-up.
Where can I buy True Local apparel?
Online at shoptruelocal.com, and in person every Friday from 5:00-10:00 PM at our pop-up inside Vega Lounge, 2777 E Atlantic Blvd, Pompano Beach, FL 33062. We also vendor at South Florida events throughout the year. True Local is not sold in national retail chains — we're direct-to-you.
Is True Local an actual Florida brand, or Florida-themed merch from somewhere else?
We're an actual Florida brand. True Local is owned and operated out of Pompano Beach, FL, our artwork is designed here, and our owner is at the Friday pop-up in person. We're not a print-on-demand storefront using stock Florida graphics.
What do you sell and what does it cost?
Trucker and patch hats are $27.76-$29.95. Cotton/CVC t-shirts and women's racerback tanks are $24.95. Dri-fit performance shirts are $34.95 short sleeve and $49.95 long sleeve. Hoodies are $64.95. Decals start around $3. Shipping is free on orders over $50.
What makes your hats different?
Our hats use custom leatherette and PVC patches with original artwork we draw ourselves — not licensed clip art. We use premium hat blanks with breathable mesh backs (trucker styles) or performance/rope builds, with adjustable snapback closures. Our "Darkwater Glow" patches are a black holographic finish that shifts between deep green, gunmetal blue and bronze in the light.
Are your dri-fit shirts good for fishing and sun protection?
Yes — our dri-fit performance shirts are moisture-wicking and made for long days in Florida sun and humidity, which is why they're popular for fishing, boating and diving. Long sleeve versions give you more coverage on the water. They're lightweight, not heavy cotton.
How do your shirts fit? What size should I order?
Our t-shirts are a lightweight CVC blend with a standard unisex fit — order your normal size. Women's racerback tanks run true to size with a relaxed drape. Dri-fit performance shirts have an athletic cut, so if you prefer a looser fit on the water, size up one. Hats are one-size adjustable snapback.
Do you ship nationwide? How fast?
Yes, we ship to all 50 states. Most orders ship within 1-3 business days. Shipping is free on orders over $50.
What is your return policy?
Contact us within 30 days of delivery and we'll make it right. Items must be unworn and in original condition.
Do you do custom hats or bulk orders for businesses and events?
Yes. We produce custom patch hat designs and bulk orders for businesses, charity runs, boat clubs, teams and events, including artwork design. See our Custom Hats page or use the Contact page to start a quote.
What are Glades Raised and Costadelic?
They're True Local design collections, not separate stores. Glades Raised is our swamp, hunting and inland Florida line. Costadelic is our retro coastal line. Both are sold at shoptruelocal.com.
How do I care for my hat?
Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not machine wash or tumble dry, and keep it out of extreme heat so the shape and patch hold up.
Do you have a physical store?
We don't have a standalone storefront. You can shop us in person every Friday 5:00-10:00 PM at our pop-up in Vega Lounge, 2777 E Atlantic Blvd, Pompano Beach, FL, and at South Florida events we vendor throughout the year. Everything else is online at shoptruelocal.com.
How can I contact you?

Do you offer gift cards?
Not yet — gift cards are coming. For now the safest gift is a hat, since they're one-size adjustable.
